On Friday July 26, 2010 at 12:17 p.m., Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a reported structure fire located at 238 Overlook Court. First arriving personnel reported a townhome with smoke visible from the front of the structure. Upon arrival, firefighters located the fire in a bedroom on the second floor. They were able to extinguish it within five minutes.
One adult and three children were home when the fire occurred and escaped without injury. The Red Cross is providing assistance for the individuals. There were no other civilian or injuries to public safety personnel.
Preliminary investigation shows that the fire originated in the bedroom closet and was the result of a child playing with matches. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
Units responded from the following stations: Falmouth, Berea, Stafford, Hartwood , Aquia, and Fredericksburg.
